Who We Are

Founder John Watson started Evergreen Consulting in 2000 after a diverse career that included positions as Business Development Director for eCollege, editor of an endangered species journal, environmental educator, and fisheries biologist. He holds a BA in Biology from Middlebury College, and a Masters in Natural Resources and MBA from the University of Michigan. He is on the board of Colorado Wild, a statewide environmental organization working on public lands issues in the Colorado high country.

Associate Tim Snyder joined in 2007 after a successful career in school administration and leading Colorado Online Learning for six years.  He has served on a variety of state commissions and panels regarding online education, and was the chief architect of several pieces of legislation regarding online funding and accountability.  He has keynoted internationally and authored articles on online learning and other topics. He has an educational doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, an MA in secondary education, and BA in English from the University of Wyoming. He was recently appointed to the Colorado P-20 Education Coordinating Council, and serves on the steering committee for the Colorado School
Finance Project and executive board of the Council on 21st Century Learning.

Associate Jennifer Ryan joined Evergreen Consulting in 2005. Her previous experience includes consulting with the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education and editorial and marketing work with Harcourt College Publishers. Jennifer has a BA from Texas A&M University.

With just three of us in the office in Colorado, on many projects we partner with other top consultants and companies from around the country.

Sunnywood Designs is a web site development and programming firm specializing in the fields of environmentally responsive design and technology. Sunnywood also provides high quality web design services to small businesses and individuals within their community in Ithaca, New York. The company was started by Eric and Liz Woods, whose expertise includes web development, graphic design, programming, interactive media, and project management. Their clients include the World Resources Institute, Clean Air-Cool Planet, GT Solar, Rocky Mountain Institute, and BuildingGreen.

Spright Design provides communication solutions for businesses who are working hard to help make people and the planet healthier. Founder Lisa Hoffman Mullis handles design and layout for many of our projects.

With Aventouras, our second business, we have many partners across Latin America who help us offer a wide range of active, adventure and community-based travel to Costa Rica, Peru, Galapagos, Guatemala, Panama, Ecuador, and Belize.
